Tom Phelan spearheads the strategic cultivation and management of LGIS’s global distribution channels. In this capacity, he stewards key relationships across a diverse portfolio, including insurance brokers, bankers’ associations, prominent law firms, and leading financial advisory consultants.

A thirty-year veteran of the reinsurance industry, Tom was a principal architect in the conceptualization and launch of LGIS. His visionary approach to product development, coupled with his ability to forge high-level reinsurance alliances, remains the cornerstone of the firm’s growth trajectory.

Tom’s distinguished career began at Aon Re, where he spent a formative year immersed in the Lloyd’s and London markets. He subsequently spent a decade at the U.S. subsidiary of R.K. Carvill, specializing in Specialty Casualty and Professional Liability.

Following a successful tenure at Willis Re, Tom was tapped to establish and lead the Atlanta office of JLT Re. Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Yale University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago.
